About
Monsters
Those parts of your psyche that try to keep you safe from yourself and your own potential. The parts that rant and rail at you, that warn you about the impending doom and disaster, that keep you from doing the things that are really important because what if you mess them up!
The monster metaphor was created by genius procrastination-dissolver and biggification teacher Havi Brooks, who blogs and teaches useful things (including monster whispering) over at The Fluent Self.
Willie Hewes and Alexia Petrakos started this site to share our experiences with monsters, show you portraits of our monsters and tell you about our Monster Journals. We’re working on a special journal with monsters, useful questions and allies, especially created to help you interact with your monsters in a helpful way. The journals are still in development, but you can download the Mini Monster Journal for a taste.
You can also visit the blog for tips and stories about how to make peace with your monsters and keep them from barking all through the night.
How? With journalling. And cartoons. And stickers. Glitter pens are optional.
